The process needed to unlock new genes and breeds in Ovipets . Each breed at this time has 5 levels of genes to be unlocked, each with their own credit price and required time to unlock them.
Breeds[]
New breeds of pets can only be unlocked once one has come into your possession. It takes a full 24 hours for researching the breed to be done and then unlocks that breed's level 1 genes.
Level 1[]
The first level of genes, this is unlocked as soon as you are finished researching the breed of pet. Those are usually the most Dominate of all the genes.
All breeds at this time have 6 or more genes in the Level 1 research tree.
Level 2[]
The next level of genes is in level 2 and must be researched before it can be used. This takes a period of 48 hours and has different credit price depending on the species (Draconis 30 credits, Avi 20 credits, Piscium 10 credits, Feline 10 credits). At this time you can not research any other gene for the breed while you are researching level 2.
However once Level 2 is unlocked all genes from level 1 will be learned faster and cheaper due to the -10% Research Time and Generator Cost. This decreases what was once a 24 hour wait for a Level 1 gene to 21 hours.
Level 3[]
The third level is only available after completing the research on level 2. It takes a period of 72 hours and cost varies based on species.
There are bonuses for unlocking Level 3, another -10% Research Time and a +10% rise in Generator Precision. Generator Precision is how closely your outcome matches your initial colors.
Level 4[]
The fourth level is only available after completing the research on level 3. It takes a period of 96 hours and cost varies based on species.
There are bonuses for unlocking Level 4, another -10% Research Time and a -10% to Splice Cost.
Level 5[]
( Available only to research if you are a Paid User )
The fifth level is only available after completing the research on level 4. It takes a period of 110 hours and cost varies based on species.
There are bonuses for unlocking Level 5, another -10% to Research Time, and an additional +10% to Generator Precision. Gender splicing, Cloneing & DNA profiling.
At this time there are no new genes unlocked at Level 5.
